When To Start Training Your Puppy

Training should begin from day 1! Training is one of the best ways to bond with your dog, encourage them to be happy, and of course, create a hierarchy in the household. Initial training steps aren’t teaching them to roll over the night they arrive, but encouraging them to sit before eating, to be left alone without concern or show them where the toilet is.

Training can be 1 of two things; fun or work. Dogs LOVE to learn (if it is something you are making fun, engaging and enjoyable). Dont be afraid to look like an idiot - I promise, they don’t judge.

If training becomes something you want to do and not something you have to do, not only will you be more inclined to continue doing it, but the dog will be more inclined to participate! Results will come much quicker if you’re both having fun.
